Inti Raimy Festivity is Back in 2022

After two years of confined activities, Cusco is now ready again to celebrate their most important festivity. June is a particularly important month to all Cusco; many festivities are held in small and big towns. It is very usual to witness parties, parades, and traditional ceremonies all around Cusco City and its surroundings like the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

These festivities symbolize different saints or important dates in the Andean agricultural calendar. The Inti Raymi festivity is the celebration of the winter solstice in the southern hemisphere. Although the central day of this astronomic event is the 21st, the Inti Raymi is celebrated every June 24^th and the biggest celebration all South America is hosted in the imperial Cusco City.
